The ‘BASKK Rum Bar’ officially opens this Friday 18 October, the dimly lit space is painted in dusty pink hues with flowing fabric curtains and Moroccan inspired furnishings. A private nook that offers an array of rums from around the globe- coupled with selected spirits, wines and local beers.
As rum is becoming a ‘happening thing’ on the coast and with the first agricole rum distillery ‘Husk’ opening in Tumbulgum earlier this year-its timely for BASKK to launch a rum bar, capturing the unique flavours of the region.
The Kirra Point venue quickly gained a reputation as the place to be (circa 2017) when the sun goes down, with sunset gin cocktails on the deck and a tasty share plate menu that’s inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean.
The main dining hall offers an intimate sit-down dining experience for those special occasions and turns into a dance floor complete with local Dj’s spinning tunes, well into the night.
The BASKK Rum Bar will be mixing up a curated list of drinks, such as the ‘Caipirinha sticky finger’ (Husk Pure Cane, finger lime & Honeycomb) ‘Mr David’ (Husk Pure Cane, Davidsons plum & blended lychee) and ‘The Myrtle’ (Spiced Rum, ginger beer, orange peel and lemon myrtle)
Adding a touch of ‘booze to the food’ with an array of tasty bar snacks on offer, like BBQ pork rum glaze bao, spiced rum chicken wings and a sailor’s fruit cake dessert with spiced cherries and vanilla rum custard.
The recent addition of the BASKK Rum Bar has created another dimension to the beachside venue, for those after dinner drinks or work knock offs- reminisce of a downtown whisky bar, only with rum.
BASKK Kirra Point is the ideal place to book a festive function or Xmas party, from the sunset deck to the dining hall to the cosy rum bar nook.
Coastal charm and chic design have placed this Southern Gold Coast venue well and truly on the food & rum map.
BASKK Rum Bar opens Fri-Sun 5pm-late and is available for private functions upon request 7 days a week.
