Did you know that Australia’s most iconic and awarded seafood restaurant Fins is located by the beach at Salt, Kingscliff.Fins had a humble beginning, opening its doors on the banks of the Brunswick Heads river 27 years ago. It rose to fame when it relocated to the Beach Hotel in Byron Bay, winning Best Seafood Restaurant in Australia and 22 consecutive years of Chefs Hats. Its 3rd and final move and Fins is at its pinnacle in its current home at Salt, Kingscliff.

Fins celebrity chef Steven Snow is passionate about only serving locally sourced, line caught fresh fish and seafood. Chef ‘Snowy’ is known internationally as Australia’s “seafood guy” and is an ambassador for Tourism Australian. He has been exclusively working with the same fishermen for decades. Fins is one of the only restaurants that respects that concept that seafood (like fruit and vege) is seasonal. Fins menu does not list a species (i.e. Snapper) as Snapper is not always at it’s best, nor is it guaranteed to be fresh and local. Every day at Fins you will have up to 5 different sustainably caught local fish to choose from. You will never find a farmed or frozen fish at Fins. Snowy has an unwavering commitment to organic and sustainable produce, with his own organic kitchen garden.
